The 2013 Osaka City University graduation ceremony was held at Osaka-Jo Hall (next to Osaka Castle) on Thursday 21 March 2013. This year 1475 students received their Bachelor’s degree, 534 their Master’s degree, 76 their Doctor’s degree and 53 their Professional (Law) degree.  

With the OCU Symphony Orchestra providing the music, a representative of each Faculty and Graduate School received their graduation certificate from OCU President Nishizawa, The most outstanding students from each Faculty and Graduate School also received an Award for Academic Excellence.   

President Nishizawa stated that this would be both their first day to step into society, as well as the starting day for a further life full of learning. He expressed his hope that they would all keep the enterprising spirit and critical thinking they obtained through their studies and live healthy, active and prosperous lives.   

After a congratulatory speech by the Chairman of the OCU Alumni Association Takao Kodama the ceremony finished with a performance by the OCU Chorus ‘Friede’, Mixed Chorus and Glee Club.
