During the first week of September 12 students (5 Japanese and 7 international students) took part in the 2014 Osaka City University (OCU) Shanghai company visit and internship program.
On the firs day the group visited three companies: Shanghai Xuyang Food Co. Ltd., Allbright Law Offices and Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation (China) Limited for a guided tour and questions & answers sessions.
On the days after that the students had the opportunity to look and help behind the scenes of the largest business matching events for Japanese companies in China, the Factory Network Business Conference. The event is organized every year at the Shanghai Mart exhibition center by Factory Network Asia, a company headed by an alumnus of the OCU Faculty of Engineering, Mr. Naoki Inoue.
Held for the 17th time this year, approximately 550 Japanese companies presented themselves with a booth at the fair, taking up three floors of the exhibition center. The opening ceremony was attended by the Consul-General of Japan. Our students supported the local Chinese staff, helping with the reception, interpreting, announcements, providing information etc.
On the last day of the program the group met with OCU alumni currently living and working in Shanghai. Their university seniors gave them a lot of valuable advice on working in an international environment.
