Prof. Naoko Ohtani, pathophysiology, Molecular Biological Science, Graduate School of Medicine won the Woman Scientist Award in Japanese Cancer Association.

To encourage women researchers who study cancer, the Woman Scientist Award was created to outstanding women researchers in cancer research field in this fiscal year. The award is also given to women researchers who study an independent cancer research with unique ideas and achieved significant results which actively promote cancer diagnosis, treatment, discovery of cancerous mechanism and a method of the prevention. Prof. Ohtani was chosen as the first honorable winner. She said “I am very pleased to be awarded this prestigious prize. I have kept studying on basic research area. I will make an effort to bring patients profits for the treatment.
