Academic Year Calendar
The academic year (AY) runs from 1 April to 31 March. The calendar for AY 2021-2022 is as follows:
*Make-up class day - To ensure the requisite number of credits per year for graduation, make-up classes will be held on days with a large number of available class periods.
*Intensive study period - Supplementary courses or courses of a more focused nature are held during this period.
*Semester's examination - Exams and regular classes are held

Postponements of regular examinations, cancellation of classes due to issues weather and/or public transportation etc.

1. Class cancellations due to suspension of public transportation*.
As a general rule, classes will be cancelled (regular examinations will be postponed) if either 1 or 2 of the following transportation systems are suspended (excluding a temporary suspension of operation due to an accident, etc.). However, as shown in the table below, depending on the time when services resume, all or part of the classes will be held. Please note, a suspension of services may occur pending other decisions.

●Umeda Satellite
Due to availability of alternative transportation, there will be no class cancellations due to suspension of transportation.
2. About class cancellation due to worsening weather conditions.
As a general rule, classes will be cancelled (regular examinations will be postponed) if either a hazardous wind alert or a special alert (all applicable) is issued by Osaka Prefecture. However, as shown in the table below, depending on the time when the alert is lifted, all or part of the classes will be held. Please note, alerts may be issued pending other decisions.
3. About class cancellation due to suspension of remote teaching WebClass (limited to simultaneous interactive type).
As a general rule, if WebClass stops, only simultaneous interactive classes will be cancelled (except when there is contact from the professor in charge of the class). However, as shown in the table below, depending on when WebClass resumes, all or part of the lessons will be held. In addition, remote classes (on-demand type) will not be cancelled.

* Suspension of public transportation means that transportation is suspended due to an accident, weather, earthquake, traffic strike and other reasons, making it difficult to commute to school.
*If a weather alert or a special alert is issued during a class or exam, the conducted class/exam will be continued as it is and classes will cancelled from the following period.
*If necessary, the cancellation of classes and/or postponement of regular examinations will be decided separately by each faculty or graduate school.
