Guidelines for international academic exchange agreements
To facilitate extensive joint research and exchange possibilities for researchers and students through university-wide and inter-faculty academic exchange agreements with outstanding universities and research institutes abroad, OCU has established the following guidelines.
University-wide agreements
(1) University-wide agreements are agreements signed by the President of OCU and the Head of a university or research institute abroad, with the aim to stimulate exchange in education and research through the exchange of students and researchers. The exact content and implementation of the exchange is not described in this agreement itself, but is specified in an annex.
(2) University-wide agreements can be concluded upon agreement with the other university or research institute regarding the suitability for exchange in the following cases:
① Exchange with a university or research institute abroad with which active exchange projects have been carried out in the past and further exchange projects can be expected in the future.
② Other cases in which a university-wide agreement is recognized as beneficial to our university.
Inter-faculty agreements
(1) Inter-faculty agreements are agreements signed by the Dean of an OCU Faculty or Graduate School and the Head of a university, research institute or one of its departments abroad.
(2) Inter-faculty agreements can be concluded when the departments involved see a necessity to conclude an agreement for exchange in the following cases:
① When exchange takes place with only one Faculty, Graduate School or department.
② When exchange takes place with multiple Faculties, Graduate Schools or departments, but a university-wide agreement is not deemed necessary.
③ When a university-wide agreement exists and a Faculty, Graduate School or department feels it necessary to agree on specifics regarding the content and implementation of academic exchange between the Faculties, Graduate Schools or departments involved.
