OCU alumnus receives Order of the Rising Sun
Former Deputy-Minister of Science and Technology of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam Dr. Nghiem Vu Khai, an alumnus of the Osaka City University (OCU) Graduate School of Science, was awarded with the Order of the Rising Sun, Gold Rays with Neck Ribbon for the 2014 Spring Imperial Decorations. He received the award for his contributions to the promotion of mutual understanding between Japan and Vietnam through the Vietnam-Japan Friendship Parliamentarians Union.
Dr. Nghiem Vu Khai studied at the OCU Graduate School of Science for his Master and Doctoral Degree in Science on a Japanese Government Scholarship between April 1988 and March 1994. He obtained his Doctoral Degree in 1994.
On 9 July 2012 Dr. Nghiem Vu Khai visited OCU again as Deputy-Minister of Science and Technology and had a meeting with OCU President Nishizawa.
