The 124th OCU Boat Race took place on the Osaka Okawa River on 23 and 24 May 2015.
The weather was great again this year, with Sunday even resembling a mid-summer day. The opening ceremony, featuring a marching band and live painting performance, luckily also had a clear sky. During his speech OCU President Nishizawa welcomed the team of board members from Osaka Prefecture University, who participated for the second time this year. The Boat Race is made possible each year by the kind support of the OCU Education Supporters Association, whose Vice-ChairmanTsukamoto held a speech to wish all participants good luck. The opening ceremony ended with a lively show by the OCU Cheering Club.
The President and Board Members competed in the first race, followed by teams of students, professors, university staff and alumni. On Sunday teams of Osaka residents also participated, all cheered on loudly and playing to win.
