To further raise awareness for the need to prepare for natural disasters, a panel exhibition focusing on disaster prevention will be held on the ground floor of the Media Center. At the exhibition, which is open to anyone, donations will be collected for support to victims of the earthquake in Nepal.
Osaka City University Sugimoto Campus emergency drill
To prepare for the eventuality of a disaster, OCU will hold a large scale emergency drill for all students and staff at the Sugimoto campus. The drill will take place during the lunch break. The assumption for the drill is an earthquake of 6 on the Japanese scale directly hitting Osaka. We will practice evacuation from the buildings and test the Safety Confirmation System that was introduced at OCU last year. The system will send out emails to the mobile phones of all registered users asking them for a confirmation of their safety. The drill will test all responsibilities, including a triage practice to treat any wounded and the use of rescue mats to carry wheelchair users.
