Nine students from Utrecht University (The Netherlands) visited OCU on 20 April 2016 for an exchange session on business innovation. The students from Utrecht were all students of Innovation Science and members of the SSU Foundation which organizes a study trip abroad each year. For this year’s trip they came to Japan’s Kansai area, visiting a number of companies and institutes in the region. From the OCU side about 30 students of the Faculty and Graduate School of Business studying under Professor Jin-ichiro Yamada and Professor Masaharu Ota participated.
Both the Dutch and the Japanese group had prepared a company case-study in advance, on the companies Eneco and NTT Smile Energy respectively. A representative of NTT Smile Energy also kindly joined the session to answer questions from students.
After presentations from both sides, the students further discussed the subject matter in small groups, followed by an informal lunch. Although time was limited, we hope all participants enjoyed the event and we wish the Dutch students an enjoyable stay in Japan!
