Osaka City University (OCU) welcomed its new international students with an exchange party co-hosted by Global Exchange Office and the OCU Education Supporters Association International Exchange Committee on Friday 13 April 2018 at Media Center, Sugimoto Campus.

Nearly 170 international and local students participated in the party. Opening messages were addressed in both English and Japanese by Vice President Akihiro Odanaka who is in charge of international affairs, President of the International Student Association Shafiullah Parvej, and a senior student at Faculty of Business Alifianto Adi Nugroho who played a role of MC.

The program consisted of singing karaoke and a bamboo dance. After the performances of six beautiful songs by the international students with clapping hands of other participants, special session accompanied on guitar, chorus supervised by the OCU Choir Friede, were performed in the karaoke session. Although it looked difficult for the students who challenged a bamboo dance to take a rhythm, they enjoyed it with cheers by audience.

The event this year consisted mostly of participatory programs. The participating students had a good opportunity to make friends beyond the countries and languages and enjoyed the night. It is our wish that this event has become an opportunity for international and local students to deepen their friendship.
