AY 2019 Entrance Ceremony Held

The AY 2019 Entrance Ceremony was held on Friday, 5 April 2019 at Maruzen Intec Arena Osaka (Osaka Municipal Central Gymnasium). 
This year OCU welcomed 1,539 undergraduate students, 10 undergraduate (3rd year) transfer students, 506 master course students, 133 doctoral students and 20 law school students.  

President Tetsuo Arakawa touched upon the history of Osaka City University in his congratulatory speech after which Mr. Takeshi Kagita, Deputy Mayor of Osaka  congratulated the students, followed by a message from the Chairman of the OCU Education Supporters Association read by Mr. Isao Yuasa, Chief Secretary.

After the official speeches two students spoke on behalf of their fellow students. This year’s representatives were Mr. Keisuke Aida of the Faculty of Law representing the undergraduate students and Mr. Ryohei Otsuki of the Graduate School of Engineering representing the students entering or continuing into Graduate School.

The entrance ceremony was successfully over with a joint song performance by OCU Chorus ‘Friede’, Mixed Chorus and Glee Club and a music performance by the OCU Symphony Orchestra.
