A research plan by Professor Yutaka Amao, Director of the OCU Research Center for Artificial Photosynthesis (ReCAP), has been adopted by the JSPS Grants-in-Aid for Scientific Research (KAKENHI)/International Joint Research Acceleration Fund (Strengthening International Joint Research B).

The International Joint Research Acceleration Fund (Strengthening International Joint Research B) aims to pioneer original research by strengthening international ties between researchers. It believes that part of the foundation of academic research lies in facilitating projects with overseas institutions.

Professor Amao at OCU and Professor Chia-Wen (Kevin) Wu at National Taiwan University will collaborate on a research project called “International Joint Research on the Creation of Photocatalyst and Biocatalyst Composite Materials for the Usage of Carbon Dioxide”.

Since April this year, ReCAP has adopted many projects aimed at making it an International Joint Research Center. These projects are expected to lead ReCAP to further international exchanges and expansions of its research.
