About the outbreak of new coronavirus infections at our university (as of 16:00, Friday, November 13)

On Friday, November 6, 2020, it was discovered that an OCU student (male, 20s, living in Osaka Prefecture) from the Sugimoto campus was infected with the new coronavirus.

November 3 (Tuesday): The family with whom the student lives tested positive.
The student himself was considered as being in close contact with the family.
November 5 (Thursday): took a PCR test
November 6 (Friday): tested positive

It has been confirmed that the student has not entered the university since October 22 (Thursday), and there has been no close contact or infection with anyone from OCU. 

On Thursday, November 12, an OCU student (20s, female, living in Osaka Prefecture) from the Sugimoto Campus has been infected with the new coronavirus.

November 10 (Tuesday): off-campus meal with 4 people including 2 OCU students.
November 12 (Thursday): Reported a fever and visited a hospital. Antigen test found to be positive

On Tuesday, November 10, the student ate together with two other students. So far, the other two students have not had any symptoms. They are scheduled to undergo a PCR test according to the instructions of the health center and will be waiting at home until November 24 (Tuesday).

It has been confirmed that the student who tested positive has not entered the university since October 27 (Tuesday). There has been no close contact or infection within the university. 

We will continue to manage the safety throughout the university to prevent the spread of infection.

We hope for the speedy recovery of infected students, and we ask everyone to respect the human rights of all infected persons and their families.
