On Friday June 12, 2020, a press conference was held at the Seicho-no-ma Ceremony Hall in Osaka Prefectural Government by Osaka City University (Graduate School of Medicine), Kyoto University (Center for iPS Cell Research and Application, CiRA and Kyoto University Hospital) and Osaka Prefecture to talk about a joint research project on how to prevent the spread of COVID-19 as well as sign an agreement to enhance the inspection system around the virus.

PCR testing equipment will be lent to Osaka City University (OCU) and Osaka Prefecture by CiRA, which will further enhance the testing system in Osaka Prefecture. There were also comments from the attending professors on specific methods of vaccine development, and what to expect from future research.
