In January 2019, a project team consisting of volunteer students from Osaka City University and Osaka Prefecture University called "Honaikude" was set up. Through various events and activities the group has the goal of increasing excitement surrounding the 2025 Osaka / Kansai Expo and bringing about new exhibition ideas.

Mr. Masaru Ishikawa (Producer of the 2025 Japan International Exposition Venue), who had advised Honaikude on planning proposals and exhibition concepts, has been appointed visiting professor at OCU.
In the future, in addition to supporting Honaikude, he will educate students on planning research and health tech startup support / planning, etc. through regularly planned lectures - all towards the realization of the OCU slogan “Glocal hub of wisdom and wellness filled with smiles”.
