OCU established the 7th Special Award for Female Researcher Encouragement [Okamura Award] in 2014 to inspire and train the next generation of researchers. Its foundation is thanks to a donation by Chieko Okamura (graduated in 1950), who entered Osaka City University of Commerce as the first female student. From last year, the Support Office for Female Researchers has been managing it with the Educational Supporters Association.

Through encouraging continuous research by commending female researchers who are enthusiastically promoting gender equality by conducting excellent research and educational activities at our university, this award is training the next generation of female researchers for excellence.

After a strict selection process, the following three winners were selected this year.
