Osaka City certifies companies and organizations that are actively engaged in the development of a workplace environment that supports women. This is in accordance with certain standards, which led to the "Leading Company for Women’s Active Participation" certification to ensure that these initiatives are widely disseminated. Since receiving this certification for the first time as a university in November 2015, OCU has been able to receive continuous certifications; "Two-star certification" and "Ikumen Promotion Company" in 2018, and this year again "Two-star certification" and "Ikumen Promotion Company".

　This result reflects the university's efforts not only to create a work environment that’s supportive of women that allows them to continue to be active while supporting a work/life balance, but the “Ikumen” award shows our efforts to support male child rearing, housework, and participation in community activities.

 　OCU has aimed to increase the ratio of female faculty members and professors at senior positions. We will continue this trend to also include female staff members.
